About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Associate Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT) for Interventional Radiology.
• Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education for Cath Lab/EP Lab.
• Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs.
• Basic computer skills.
• Math skills.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Ability to be on site within 30 min for call in to the Cath lab IR. Call response time may vary by facility.
• CRT-Vascular International Radiography (VI) -ARRT-American Register of Radiological Technologist IR Required in 2 years.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)-American Heart Association Required 180 days from date of hire.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) -American Heart Association-Upon Hire Required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Red Cross-Upon Hire Required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR.
• For Interventional Radiology, previous experience as Radiology or Interventional Tech is recommended.
