About The Position

The Associate Campus Minister (ACM) reports to the Campus Minister and is responsible for helping college students and others in the academic community to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, leading them to grow as His disciples, and launching them to go on mission for Him. ACMs provide critical support for Campus Ministries’ outreach to campus through providing administrative support for programming and assisting with student development.

Requirements

  • Evangelical Christian with a clear call to vocational ministry
  • Knowledge of and experience in collegiate ministry
  • Bachelors degree in theology, Christian education, religion, or other related field; Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in part-time ministry or a related area in higher education
  • Experience in leading volunteer groups
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Above average oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with live sound, slides, or coordinating worship teams is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with the Campus Minister and other associate campus ministers to develop and sustain a balanced program of ministries at the University of the Cumberlands, including large and small-scale events, outreach programs, discipleship groups, and mission trips
  • Provide overall leadership for discipleship programs, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, men's ministry, and other targeted student ministry programs
  • Minister to students, faculty, and staff in a holistic way, including spiritual, moral, and social life
  • Engage in personal evangelism and discipleship
  • Recruit and equip student ministry volunteers
  • Develop robust discipleship programming with an emphasis on student development
  • Provide direction and management of work-study students, graduate assistants, student leadership teams, and volunteers
  • Coordinate and collaborate with local churches to multiply ministry efforts on campus and to help students, faculty, and staff get involved with them
  • Support Campus Ministries’ efforts to engage all student populations, including an emphasis on increasing online engagement
