About The Position

As an Associate Buyer, you will build the foundation of your procurement career while supporting a world-class aerospace manufacturing operation. In this entry-level role, you'll work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure critical materials and services are delivered on time, at the right cost, and to the highest quality standards. This position is ideal for a driven professional who brings strong analytical skills, adaptability, a sense of urgency, and a desire to learn the complexities of aerospace supply chain management. Under general supervision, supports the procurement function by executing cost-effective and compliant purchasing procedures for aerospace commodities and services. Ensures alignment with product specifications, user requirements, and company policies, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Entry-level experience with an interest in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement activities for assigned aerospace commodities and services.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships while gathering and validating pricing, specifications, and delivery information.
  • Solicit supplier quotations, evaluate bids, and assist with negotiating favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Create and manage purchase orders and contracts in accordance with company policies and business requirements.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, and other stakeholders to support operational objectives.
  • Track supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
  • Resolve procurement issues, shipment delays, discrepancies, and supplier concerns through timely corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace industry standards, including AS9100 and ITAR requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
  • Develop and maintain sources of supply; gather and validate supplier data including specifications, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and issue solicitations for quotes; evaluate bids and negotiate optimal terms including delivery, pricing, and quality.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Planning to ensure procurement meets operational needs.
  • Create and administer purchase orders and contracts, ensuring adherence to budgetary and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain records related to cost, delivery, quality, and compliance.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues including delivery delays, discrepancies, and payment concerns through appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, including AS9100 and ITAR where applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
