The Associate Business Unit Controller supports the accounting, financial reporting, and financial stewardship of one or more assigned business units while developing the technical accounting, financial analysis, and business partnership skills necessary to assume full ownership of a business unit. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, supporting month-end close, analyzing financial activity, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of assigned financial information. Working within Empower's shared services accounting model, the Associate Business Unit Controller partners closely with centralized Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Finance teams to support timely and accurate financial reporting. This position serves as a developmental accounting role, providing progressive exposure to business unit accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and operational partnership while preparing the individual for advancement into a Business Unit Controller position.
