The successful candidate will be responsible for all clerical activities supporting the clinical team, assisting nursing and administrative staff to achieve agency and institutional goals, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School or GED.
  • 1 - 2 years Business or Healthcare facility experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve referrals from Hospital Intake Department via fax or e-mail.
  • Receive referrals and roster from intake unit daily.
  • Key appropriate data into computer system to complete patient admission into WUHCHHA.
  • Order all supplies, DME, labs and transportation as needed.
  • Contact the appropriate department to arrange for installation or repair of related equipment.
  • Prepare supplies and various items for weekend nursing staff.
  • Perform photocopying and filing as necessary.
  • Assign work and copy/complete assignment sheets.
  • Collect coverage sheets for the team.
  • Screen and route all phone calls as necessary.
  • Confirm staffing schedule for weekends/holidays.
  • Copy and distribute referrals to the appropriate team supervisor and/or business service associate by 3:00 pm.
  • Track field staff as needed.
  • Rotate to schedule work for the weekend.
  • Answer patient and insurer calls in a timely manner.
  • Utilize technology to improve productivity and process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
