Requirements

  • Business degree and 2 years of experience, or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree (for Associate Business Development Manager).
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree (for Business Development Manager).
  • Outstanding communication skills and adept at speaking to large groups.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • A wide network of contacts within the business community, federal government, elected officials, and public interest groups (for Business Development Manager).
  • Organization skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5 years of business experience, preferably in sales (for Business Development Manager).

Nice To Haves

  • Business-to-business energy sales experience in electric, nuclear, and gas commodity, demand response, solar and energy efficiency products.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and contact high-level decision makers in respective businesses and cultivate client relationships.
  • Cultivate customer relationships with respective Fortune 500 companies.
  • Understand customers business objectives, price risk tolerances and work with internal resources to develop energy hedging strategies that match the customer's needs.
  • Develop energy plans and strategies for Fortune 500 companies, prepare presentations and close sales transactions.
