About The Position

The Burns & Wilcox Environmental Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking an Associate Underwriter, eager to expand their knowledge in the insurance industry. The Environmental COE has specialized knowledge of environmental exposures and their potential impact on our clients’ business. Responsibilities: Build agent relationships, find sources of business, and be creative in placing risks and product opportunities Seek opportunities to access new insurance markets and products Play a producer role in the dynamic growth of a highly successful and consistently profitable company Use cutting-edge technology to deliver high quality service to agents and agencies Partner with a service-oriented corporate headquarters staff Define and monitor successful sales and marketing strategies in cooperation with senior management Be technologically savvy and data driven and develop those capabilities in the branch office team Supervise execution of company underwriting guidelines, corporate policy and procedures, and compliance with contract terms Manage relationships with retail agents and branch underwriter/broker producers Drive consistency and quality in operational processes Find and cultivate brokerage markets Find and build agent relationships to promote business growth Be creative in developing solutions for individual risk placement as well as program business development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the insurance industry
  • Insurance license preferred
