About The Position

The Associate Biomed Technician is an entry-level biomedical technician responsible for preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a wide variety of biomedical equipment. The technician is expected to develop troubleshooting skills and learn to operate various types of biomedical equipment, while contributing to business growth and productivity improvement initiatives. The position is based in Hanover Park, Illinois, and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Overtime may be required.

Requirements

0–1 years of experience.
Basic troubleshooting ability.
Some knowledge of various hospital or homecare medical equipment.
Excellent customer communication skills.
Computer literacy and an understanding of database operations.
Understanding of and ability to operate basic electronic test equipment.
Basic knowledge of electronics, electricity, electro-mechanical systems, fluidics, pneumatics, and hydraulic theories and practices.
Bachelor’s degree in an electronic field, preferably biomedical, or a combination of education and experience.
Strong work ethic and focus on quality work.
Ability to stay organized.
Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus amid intermittent distractions.
Strong organization and time-management skills.
Professionalism and a mature sense of accountability.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a variety of biomedical equipment.
Mentor and assist preventive maintenance technicians.
Identify personal training needs.
Keep the service area clean and orderly to provide a safe environment for service personnel.
Ensure accurate database entry and reporting.
Meet department production goals.
Participate in mentoring when required.
Participate in business growth and productivity improvement initiatives.
