About The Position

The Associate Benefits Analyst supports the Employee Benefits team by delivering administrative, technical, and analytical assistance. Working closely with senior analysts and account teams, the Associate Benefit Analyst contributes to client deliverables, helps ensure data accuracy, and develops foundational knowledge in employee benefits, funding strategies, and vendor structures.

Requirements

  • High School / GED required
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Must hold a valid CA Life Agent license or will obtain (within first 6 months)
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced skills in Excel
  • Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to effectively work with a team and coach others in developing their skills and abilities.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities in order to complete assignments on time and with optimal accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Supports data entry, census tracking, and file audits
  • Assists with creating and maintaining spreadsheets, templates, and documents.
  • Provides data support and participates in team meetings.
  • Assist with benchmarking, vendor grids, and the development of communication strategies for Market Analysis.
  • Assists with providing underwriting services and technical support.
  • Analyzes benefits and claims data for Market Analysis, including interpreting census data and contribution modeling.
  • Organizes carrier and vendor bids, follows up on late or missing submissions, and maintains client databases in internal systems.
  • Reviews insurance bids for compliance with specifications, identifying key differences in bids, and maintaining client databases within internal systems.
  • Supports the RFP process, including reporting results to carrier partners/vendors and negotiating rates.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
