As an Associate Behavior Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing self-directed support for children and adults who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) within ALSO’s Residential, Supported Living, and Community Services programs. You’ll provide essential OIS trainings to new and continuing ALSO advocates as well as the greater community, and assist our small team of Behavior Specialists in implementing behavior support plans and facilitating positive behavioral change for the individuals we support. The position involves supporting individuals in homes and community settings, collaborating with the behavior team, assisting with training advocates, and contributing to the development of functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and positive behavior support plans (PBSP). In this dual role, you will also assist ALSO's services as an Employment Professional or Direct Support Professional. This role entails supporting people who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities at home with daily living skills or at work through on-the-job training, advocacy, and skill building. Your role is to help ensure successful and meaningful employment relationships between individuals and their employer through oversight, mentorship, and hand-on support.
