About The Position

This role involves working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software programs to support various projects related to upstream and midstream mergers, acquisitions, and divestments in the energy sector. The Associate will analyze spatial data, develop custom Python scripts for GIS workflows, and collaborate with engineers and geologists to generate GIS products for marketing materials and presentations. The position also includes developing mapping applications and tools for evaluating technical data for upstream and midstream assets across various US basins.

Requirements

• Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Geographic Information Science, Geology, Geography, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in job offered or a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Geographic Information Science, Geology, Geography, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or a related role.
• Three (3) years of experience with Master’s degree or five (5) years with Bachelor’s degree with the following: using GIS software programs such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap 10.x, and Google Earth.
• Developing Python scripts and GIS models.
• Carrying out raster manipulations and analysis.
• Georeferencing non-spatial documents for integration into a GIS environment.
• Creating and managing geospatial databases in ArcCatalog and ArcGIS Pro.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with various Geographic Information Systems (“GIS”) software programs including ESRI Applications (ArcGIS, ArcMap), Spotfire, Enverus (PRISM, Placed Well Analytics), IHS Petra, and Surfer.

Responsibilities

• Performing GIS technical support on multiple projects related to upstream and midstream mergers, acquisitions, and divestments.
• Analyzing spatial data through use of mapping software.
• Developing custom-built Python scripts for workflows and processing of GIS data.
• Working with engineers and geologists on the technical team to answer spatial queries and generate GIS products in presentation materials for marketing documents, pitches, data room presentations and execution of mandates.
• Developing mapping applications and tools to be used to evaluate technical data for upstream and midstream assets across various basins in the US such as Permian, Eagle Ford, Bakken, SCOOP/STACK, Haynesville, Appalachia, or Gulf of Mexico.
