About The Position

Revvity is seeking a talented Associate Backend Software Engineer (Java, Vert.x, AWS) to join our Signals Software team. This role will focus on the back-end design and development of our next-generation cloud notebook application, translating marketing requirements into an elegant and user-friendly application for the scientific community. The successful candidate will be part of an international team of engineers, designers, and product managers, contributing to high-impact, customer-focused features. The initial assignment involves supporting and maintaining the Core SSO application (Ruby) and integrating into the Core Signals Notebook team to deliver new functionalities using Java/Vert.X through REST APIs.

Requirements

0 - 1 year of professional work experience (and/or internship)
Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming
Proven Familiarity/Usage of Claude Code or other AI Agents
Good SQL concepts and be able to write complex queries
Understanding of REST APIs
Exposure to CI/CD (Jenkins GitHub)
Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams
Excellent work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result
Entrepreneurial minded, creative problem solver, and innovative thinker

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree is preferred

Responsibilities

Collaborate with fellow team members on priorities, specifications, and feature implementation
Craft well-documented, clean, and tested code
Create secure, performant interfaces and services
Build and maintain new, high-impact functionality into Signals Notebook
Work with cloud services and technologies
Leverage Claude Code to understand, analyze the codebase and propose specs
