The Federal Appeals Firm is a national appellate practice focused exclusively on federal appeals of Social Security disability decisions at the district court and circuit court levels. We handle one of the largest volumes of § 405(g) appeals in the country, filing across federal circuits nationwide, and have built our reputation on rigorous legal writing and substantive appellate advocacy. We are an AI-native firm, meaning our workflow is built around AI from the ground up, utilizing proprietary tools developed in-house. This approach allows us to deliver high-quality appellate work at a significant volume and consistency. This is a specialized firm that focuses on one area of law at a high level and operates differently from others in the field. This role is writing-intensive and AI-augmented, designed for an attorney who excels at complex legal analysis, enjoys appellate practice, and prefers substantive brief writing over hearings or client-facing work. The Associate Attorney will draft federal briefs challenging Social Security disability decisions, handling all required briefing throughout the case lifecycle. All work is reviewed by senior attorneys. A distinctive aspect of this role is the collaboration with Brief Master™, a proprietary AI system. This AI is a tool to amplify legal judgment, not replace it. The firm seeks individuals energized by this collaborative mode of practice. Prior AI experience is not required, but strong legal writing instincts, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to engage with AI as a thinking partner are essential. The firm will provide training on its systems. This is an opportunity to build deep expertise in federal appellate litigation and work at the forefront of legal writing production without the typical distractions of a traditional litigation practice. The position can be hybrid-remote for those in the Sarasota region of Florida.
