About The Position

Litchfield Cavo LLP is a growing nation-wide litigation defense law firm that strives to provide its employees with a supportive environment in which to develop and advance. Our Milwaukee, WI office seeks a highly-motivated Associate Attorney with at least three to five years’ experience in civil litigation. Experience in general liability (including automobile liability, premises liability, products liability) and/or insurance coverage is preferred. The ideal candidate must be licensed to practice in Wisconsin state and federal courts. Requirements

at least three to five years’ experience in civil litigation
licensed to practice in Wisconsin state and federal courts
practice law in the state of Wisconsin
manage multiple case files successfully in a busy environment
demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills
excellent written and verbal communication skills
strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills
ability to move from case to case
knowledge of both state and federal court procedures

Responsibilities

draft, prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders and legal memoranda
draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions
conduct legal research competently and with proficiency
prepare and take depositions of parties and witnesses
review client documents, draft case evaluations and status report correspondence
assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances
