About The Position

Monroe Moxness Berg (MMB) is a boutique Minneapolis (Bloomington) law firm nationally recognized for its innovative work in brand concept growth and protection, multi-unit franchising and distribution, and corporate finance. We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team. This role focuses on supporting the acquisition, development, sale, and leasing of restaurant, retail, and manufacturing facilities, including local and national multi-unit properties for sophisticated clients. The position involves close collaboration with our real estate and mergers & acquisitions teams and includes meaningful work on title and survey matters, transaction documents, due diligence, and closings. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota (or eligible for immediate admission)
  • 1-5 years of commercial real estate experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or comparable real estate environment
  • Experience drafting and reviewing commercial real estate agreements, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, conveyance documents, and related closing materials
  • Working knowledge of title and review, due diligence, and the closing process
  • Ability to identify and summarize key issues in purchase agreements, leases, title commitments, surveys, and closing documents
  • Clear, concise drafting skills and attention to consistency, defined terms, and client-specific requirements
  • Sound judgment in knowing when to raise issues, ask questions, recommend practical next steps, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues
  • Strong organization and follow-through on due diligence checklists, closing timelines, and transaction deliverables
  • Detail-oriented, responsive, and able to manage multiple transaction tasks with appropriate supervision
  • Creative problem-solver who uses internal and external resources effectively
  • Commitment to ensuring documents are carefully reviewed, accurate, and ready for signature
  • Comfort coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, lenders, surveyors, and internal team members
  • Interest in developing client relationships and growing within a collaborative real estate practice
