About The Position

Blaszkow Legal, PLLC is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their team. This position is designed for individuals with over 3 years of experience practicing personal injury law in Virginia. The role involves comprehensive case management, from client intake and investigation to drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and handling trials. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage deadlines independently. A strong commitment to advocating for clients is essential. This is a full-time position that may occasionally require weekend and evening work. Additionally, the Associate Attorney will mentor less-experienced associates in various aspects of personal injury law.

Requirements

  • Law school degree
  • Virginia Bar membership required
  • More than 3 years of practicing personal injury law in Virginia
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle deadlines without constant supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong desire to advocate on behalf of our clients
  • Familiarity with civil procedure
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Maryland or D.C. Bar membership is a plus
  • Other Bar admissions (DC and MD) helpful!

Responsibilities

  • Actively review cases in pre-litigation, ensuring that medical records are being received and investigations are complete
  • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, other staff members, etc.
  • Evaluate cases, including determining potential for resolution and need for litigation
  • Represent clients in circuit and general district court proceedings
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, motions
  • Negotiate settlements for clients
  • Administrative and other management functions related to the practice of law
  • Mentoring and guiding less-experienced associates through various aspects of personal injury work, including case evaluation, negotiations, and litigation.
