An Associate Attorney plays an integral part of our legal team, proving exceptional legal representation, advocacy, and customer service for immigration clients seeking family-based, and victim-based relief. They work under the guidance of Senior Associates and contribute to the Firm’s mission of delivering exceptional legal services. This position helps to establish the Firm as the premiere immigration legal services provider in the US.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in the US.
  • Proven experience in family-based and/or victim-based immigration law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and team management abilities.
  • Strategic, innovative mindset with a results-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a substantial caseload of immigration cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case facts, and develop case strategies.
  • Draft and revise legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence; collaborate with experts and NFIL support staff to build robust cases.
  • Represent clients in court hearings (as applicable), USCIS interviews (as applicable), and in affirmative filings.
  • Communicate with government representatives (DHS, USCIS, ICE, and CBP, Senators) as needed.
  • Stay up to date with legal developments, industry trends, and relevant regulations.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, explaining complex legal matters in simple terms.
  • Conduct client strategy and consultation sessions (as needed) with prospective immigration clients
  • Attend continuing legal education (CLE) seminars to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
  • Uphold ethical standards and professional conduct in all interactions.
  • Maintain case files, ensuring all essential documents, correspondence, and evidence are properly managed; use Filevine for enhanced efficiency and meticulous organization.
