About The Position

The Associate Attorney will manage a diverse general liability and insurance defense caseload from inception through resolution, providing strategic legal counsel and representing clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions. The role involves legal research and analysis, drafting, discovery, expert-witness collaboration, and trial preparation. The attorney will work closely with partners, clients, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment and manage assignments and deadlines with independence and ownership. The position has a 1,950-hour annual billable requirement. Depending on the role, office location, and Firm requirements, the position may be remote, hybrid, or fully in-office.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the state posted; additional bar admissions are a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the practice group.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience with administrative proceedings, depositions, and mediations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Professional demeanor with strong client-relations and communication skills.
• Responsive and organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review files and conduct legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Collaborate with partners, clients, and stakeholders to provide strategic and practical legal advice.
• Manage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independence.
• Meet the annual billable requirement of 1,950 hours.
