About The Position

The City of Atlanta Law Department is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Litigation Division. This role involves handling all stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and alternative dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of litigation experience or equivalent legal experience in general civil litigation in state and federal courts. Trial experience and experience working with senior attorneys and administrative staff are also desired. While prior experience representing a municipal or other local government is not required, the position will necessitate extensive contact with various City Departments and the Atlanta City Council. Applicants must possess strong written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and the interpersonal skills required to be a contributing member of a litigation team managing complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree required.
  • Must be a member of good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
  • At least one (1) year of post-graduate experience.
  • At least one (1) year of litigation experience or other equivalent legal experience in general civil litigation in state and federal courts.
