Associate Attorney
About The Position
Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2+ years of asbestos defense, toxic tort litigation, product liability litigation or general civil defense experience to join our Pittsburgh office. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented litigator to work on complex matters, gain hands-on courtroom experience, and grow within a dynamic, trial-focused firm recognized for excellence nationwide. As part of our Pittsburgh team, you will manage a diverse defense caseload involving asbestos and toxic tort defense, product liability and premises exposure claims, and other high value litigation matters. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions; conducting and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses; managing discovery and developing case strategy; attending court conferences, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations; communicating directly with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel; and assisting with trial preparation and participating in trial as needed. This position provides the opportunity to gain substantial hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced trial attorneys in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania (required)
- 2+ years of experience in asbestos defense, toxic tort, product liability or related litigation
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Proven ability to handle motion practice, depositions, and client communications independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, client-focused approach
Nice To Haves
- Licenses in Ohio, New York or West Virginia are highly desirable
