Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of its 120+ attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice. We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join our Lake Success office. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly specialized and expanding practice area focused on license agreements, leasing matters, and related litigation. The role is ideal for an attorney looking to develop expertise in a unique field that blends elements of commercial real estate and litigation. The need for this position reflects a growing volume of access (license) agreements for construction and lease-related work within the Long Island team.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York and in good standing.
  • 2-5 years of legal experience.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commercial leases, licensing agreements, contract negotiation, or commercial real estate matters.
  • Experience advising business clients.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Familiarity with reviewing and interpreting complex contractual provisions.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and analyze license/access agreements for construction.
  • Draft and review commercial leases, amendments, renewals, and related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, correspondence, and client communications.
  • Advise clients regarding contractual rights, obligations, and risk management.
  • Manage matters from inception through resolution under partner supervision.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, landlords, tenants, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff across multiple practice areas to support client needs.
