Requirements

  • At least 3-10 years of experience as an attorney
  • Strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to general liability defense.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • JD from an accredited school
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Michigan.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough legal research and drafts pleadings, motions, and other documents under the guidance of senior attorneys or partners.
  • Assists in preparing cases for hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions, ensuring all documentation and evidence are organized and complete.
  • Maintains communication with clients to provide updates, gather information, and address concerns, ensuring a professional and responsive relationship.
  • Handles document reviews, prepares discovery responses, and assists in interrogatory and deposition processes.
  • Appears in court for routine motions, hearings, or minor trials to represent clients, often with oversight from more senior attorneys.
  • Advises clients on legal rights, obligations, and risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Works closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to execute strategies and meet client objectives.
  • Meets assigned billable hour targets through efficient case management and prioritization of tasks.
  • Attends continuing legal education (CLE) programs and stays updated on changes in the law and emerging trends in their practice area.
  • Demonstrates dedication to the firm's mission, values, and growth by contributing to team projects and firm initiatives.
