About The Position

Aspen Careers is partnering with a well-established Columbus law firm to identify an Associate Attorney for its growing practice. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney who enjoys courtroom experience, a fast-moving caseload, and working closely with a highly experienced legal team— without the pressure of billable-hour requirements. The firm has built a longstanding practice representing consumer finance clients throughout Ohio and offers a supportive, team-oriented environment where attorneys and staff work collaboratively to move matters forward. The role involves regular courtroom experience handling collection litigation in municipal and common pleas courts throughout Ohio, managing matters from initial litigation through judgment and post-judgment proceedings, including garnishments. Cases are handled as a team, with significant support from paralegals and legal assistants. Most hearings and pretrial matters are handled by phone or video, with physical court appearances generally occurring once or twice per week. The practice resolves most matters through settlement, default, or other pretrial resolution, offering practical courtroom skills without a trial-heavy focus. There is potential for future equity or partnership consideration. The work environment is casual and approachable, with attorneys having significant autonomy over their schedules and time away.
