About The Position

The City of Atlanta Law Department is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Litigation Division. This role involves handling all stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and alternative dispute resolution. The position requires extensive contact with various City Departments and the Atlanta City Council. Applicants must possess strong written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and the interpersonal skills necessary to contribute to a litigation team handling complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree required.
• Member of good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
• At least one (1) year of post-graduate experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Sound judgment.
• Professionalism.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to contribute to a litigation team.

Nice To Haves

• At least one (1) year of litigation experience or other equivalent legal experience in general civil litigation in state and federal courts.
• Trial experience.
• Experience working with senior attorneys and administrative staff.
• Experience in municipal, county, and/or constitutional law.
• Demonstrated experience with aviation law is a plus.
