About The Position

MG+M The Law Firm is hiring an Associate Attorney for its Jackson, Mississippi office. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm focused on complex civil matters, including toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. Associates work closely with senior lawyers and clients on challenging matters in an entrepreneurial and collegial environment. The role involves independently managing litigation matters, conducting and preparing for depositions and trial, handling discovery and motion practice, supporting trial preparation, and maintaining accurate time records. Requirements

• At least five years of experience in one or more of the following: general litigation, complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in Mississippi.
• Experience with motion practice and depositions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to analyze complex matters.

Nice To Haves

• Admission to practice in Louisiana is a plus.
• Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Conduct depositions.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial.
• Review and analyze discovery requests.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests, pleadings, and motions.
• Provide trial preparation and support.
• Maintain accurate time records.
