About The Position

A consumer protection law firm headquartered in New York City is hiring a full-time Associate Attorney to handle its practice in Nevada. The role involves a broad range of consumer protection matters, including transactional work and civil litigation. The attorney will manage a heavy and diversified caseload, communicate with clients and opposing parties, draft and review legal documents, and conduct legal research. Although the position is based from home, travel is required for court appearances. The attorney will communicate with the New York headquarters by telephone and electronic means. Applicants may reside in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, or Idaho.

Requirements

Currently admitted to practice law in Nevada.
At least 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management and employees at all levels.
Strong legal research skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of the firm’s clients in Nevada.
Communicate with clients regarding their matters.
Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements.
Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
Travel for in-court appearances.
