About The Position

HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is currently seeking a licensed Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience in Professional Liability. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in Medical and Dental Malpractice and long-term care defense. The position will be in our Chicago, Illinois office. This associate will handle matters primarily in Cook but also in DuPage and other collar counties.

Requirements

  • Licensed Associate Attorney with 2+ years experience in Professional Liability.
  • At least two years of experience in Medical and Dental Malpractice and long term care defense.
  • Good standing with the Illinois bar
  • Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong research and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Deposition experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research, analysis, and interpretation of legal sources, including statutes, regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions.
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
  • Monitor case files to ensure compliance with deadlines, and investigate facts and legal issues to develop appropriate defenses and strategies.
  • Assist with document review and analysis.
  • Conduct depositions and appear regularly in court.
  • Support trial preparation and participate in the trial of professional liability cases.
  • Adhere to and follow client guidelines meticulously.
  • Communicate effectively and report appropriately to clients.
