About The Position

This position entails managing an independent caseload, including civil cases, title curative cases, and potential eviction matters. Court appearances are expected, requiring a high level of preparation and competency. The role involves working with a team of lawyers and paralegals. Depending on the location, the position may be fully remote or hybrid.

Requirements

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and work experience.
Membership in the State Bar of Mississippi required.
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws.
Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
Must possess excellent organizational skills.
Detailed analytic experience and organizational skills required.

Nice To Haves

Admission in other states, especially Georgia, Texas, and/or Alabama a plus.
Experience in default, mortgages, and/or creditors’ rights a plus.

Responsibilities

Initial intake and analysis on files as soon as received and generate strategy and budget within a 24 hour time frame.
Draft civil litigation documents ranging from discovery to dispositive motions and client correspondence.
Review chain of title, pleadings, mortgage servicing documents, and respond to lender and agent requests within a 24 hour time frame.
Make court appearances across Mississippi and provide same day client updates.
Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents for compliance purposes.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
