Associate Attorney - General Litigation
About The Position
O'Hagan Meyer is seeking a litigation associate to join its Charlotte office. This is an excellent opportunity for associates to provide legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant role in all aspects of the complex litigation process. Requirements
- At least 3-4 years of experience with employment litigation, general liability, professional liability, products liability, real estate / property, HOA/Condo association and/or class actions
- Admission to the state bar of North Carolina is required
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional client service
Nice To Haves
- Relevant judicial clerkship experience will be credited toward the required years of experience
- Experience with both state and federal courts
- Experience with state and federal administrative agencies
- Admission to South Carolina and/or Virginia
Responsibilities
- Legal research
- Drafting of pleadings, motions, and other documents
- Taking and defending depositions
- Representing clients in mediation
- Drafting and answering discovery requests
- Trial preparation and trial assistance
- Communicate with both clients and colleagues in an effective manner
- Local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions
