The Department of Health Policy & Management at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health is seeking a practice-focused faculty member for a non-tenure stream appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This role requires demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and leadership in academic programs. Candidates with practice experience and educational backgrounds in health administration, health services management, business administration, organizational studies, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Health care industry experience in a payer, provider, not-for-profit, government, or consulting setting is strongly preferred. The teaching emphasis will be on management-related areas such as Introduction to the US Health Care System, Health Care Management, Strategic Management, Operations Management, Health Care Finance, Quality, Human Resources Management, Leadership, Case Analysis, or Applied Problem-Solving. The successful candidate will be closely involved with teaching and mentoring in the Department’s graduate programs, including its Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Public Health (MPH), and MHA/MBA programs, and may also involve undergraduate students in the School of Public Health’s Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) program. Responsibilities include students’ integrative experiences, professional development activities, curriculum development, accreditation, job placement, and alumni relations. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment requiring teaching four 3-credit courses annually.
