Under new ownership and slated for renovation in 2027, this is a fantastic opportunity to reestablish reputation and set a new course for NoMo SoHo as a Director of Sales & Marketing. The Director of Sales & Marketing will maintain, develop, implement and maximize the business plan with effective strategies through direct sales, digital marketing and revenue management. This person will ensure effective internal and external communications with clients, potential customers, and ownership. Offering a stylish and modern hospitality experience, NoMo SoHo is a 264-room boutique hotel located in the heart of Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. Known for its distinctive design, popular restaurant and bar, 26th floor Penthouse and terrace, and unique art-infused meeting spaces, NoMo SoHo is a key player in New York’s highly competitive hotel landscape, attracting a diverse mix of leisure and business travelers from around the world. As the tallest free-standing building in the neighborhood, panoramas of Manhattan come standard with every stay. The Assistant (or Associate) Director of Sales plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth for a full-service hotel by supporting the Director of Sales & Marketing in developing and executing strategic sales initiatives. This position is responsible for building strong client relationships, overseeing key market segments, and leading proactive sales efforts to maximize room revenue. The role requires a strong balance of leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on sales execution to ensure the hotel meets and exceeds revenue goals while delivering exceptional guest and client experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales leadership experience in a full-service hotel or resort environment.
  • Proven track record in developing successful sales and marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency in hotel sales systems (Delphi, CI/TY, SFAWeb, Envision, or other brand-specific / 3rd party CRMs) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of revenue management, digital marketing, and hotel distribution channels.
  • Ability to build relationships with local community, clients, and brand partners.
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques, revenue optimization, business acumen, and market analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Sales & Marketing to design and implement sales strategies aligned with hotel goals and brand standards; manage assigned market segments (e.g., corporate, group, association, government, SMERF, or leisure) to drive new and repeat business; develop and execute proactive prospecting activities including cold calls, outside sales calls, site inspections, and networking; negotiate contracts and close business that meets hotel revenue objectives while ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business; collaborate with Revenue Management to maximize revenue through effective yield management.
  • Build, maintain, and expand strong relationships with key accounts, travel managers, and community partners; represent the hotel at industry trade shows, networking events, client entertainment functions, and community organizations; provide personalized client service to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Mentor and support sales team members by sharing best practices, assisting with key account strategy, and participating in joint calls; assist in onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback of sales associates as needed; step in to lead the department in the absence of the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Track and report sales activities, revenue results, and pipeline development using hotel sales systems (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, Opera, or brand-specific systems); prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales activity and revenue reports; maintain accurate client records, contracts, and follow-up documentation.
