About The Position

The Associate, Asset Management role will be involved in asset management support for investments as well as portfolio management responsibilities for the firm’s debt and equity platforms. This role will provide support through the lifecycle of projects, which can be from pre-development to lease-up/stabilization. The equity portfolio is primarily focused on development projects located across the country and bridging product types including multifamily, student-housing, and mixed-use. The debt portfolio invests across senior, mezzanine and preferred equity investments, nationally, across all product types. The firm is an established real estate investment platform headquartered in Dallas, Texas with over $4.4 billion AUM.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience;
  • Experience with advanced financial modeling;
  • Mastery in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ARGUS Enterprise.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong research capabilities to find or generate data independently.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, including the ability to create real estate financial models from scratch, Word, PowerPoint, and Argus.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of real estate sectors and fundamentals.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment, solve problems, and improve processes and/or services.
  • Self-directed, takes initiative and responsibility, ensures completion of tasks.
  • Highly efficient, flexible and diligent enough to handle competing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and maintain financial models to include property/project level financial projections, debt financing, JV waterfalls and complex ad hoc analyses (budgets, reforecasts, sensitivities etc.);
  • Support all efforts related to managing assets including return analysis, coordinating with JV partners, overseeing execution of business plans and supporting investor reporting;
  • Support financial and investor reporting, and Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and investors;
  • Support marketing related initiatives and requests to support platform growth;
  • Track investment performance,
  • Analyze and understand real estate documents (leases, contracts, etc.), JV Agreements, and loan agreements, and
  • Review draws, process contributions/distributions and other capital activities.
