About The Position

The Associate – Asset Based Finance Origination assists Senior Transactors in originating, structuring, and executing debt solutions for our Commercial Banking Clients. Based in New York, the ideal candidate will support new asset-based deal opportunities with an analysis of capital structure, borrowing base, credit profile, market comparables, and industry research. They will develop targeted prospecting lists and join Senior Transactors in client and prospect meetings to develop and sustain enduring relationships. The role involves assisting in the creation of pitch materials, screening opportunities, proposing appropriate structures, working alongside Underwriting to green light transactions, drafting and negotiating term sheets with clients (interfacing with legal counsel), working with underwriting partners to help shepherd internal approvals, negotiating legal documentation, and managing an efficient closing process. The Associate will interface with banker coverage and other partners to coordinate execution of transactions and to effectively meet deal timelines, exhibiting business and credit judgment as well as providing balanced assessments in working with internal team members and partners. A strong attention to detail and the ability to complete work in assigned timeframes are essential.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Asset Based Finance
  • Required Licensing/Registration: Series 79 & 63
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong financial, analytic, and credit skills
  • Experience in working with complex capital structures
  • Team player, able to facilitate strong partnerships
  • Excellent written and presentation skills

Responsibilities
