The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Amentum provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the Launch Operations & Support department and includes International Space Station (ISS), Ground Systems Development and Operations (GSDO), Space Launch System (SLS) Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) and Launch Services Program (LSP).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; four years related experience.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and outlook.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy.
  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
  • Government security clearance may be required in the future.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Prime integrator of operations in the Processing Areas/Facilities responsible for coordination/implementation of scheduled work.
  • Integration of Verification & Validation and Flight Hardware processing.
  • Integration and coordination of operational/facility/modification activities of multiple NASA Contractor activities.
  • Process and facility management support to assess/de-conflict competing priorities across multiple projects/ customers/programs.
  • O&M oversight of the area systems, reporting systems and coordination with Flow Management/Planning/ Engineering and NASA to communicate priorities.
  • May be required to author, review and edit highly complex written and graphical technical materials, including system configuration, studies, reports and other presentation graphics.
  • Primarily a 1st shift position but 2nd and 3rd shift support may be periodically required.
