About The Position

The Associate Application Engineer will perform one or more of the following tasks during the Fall (July-Dec 2026) related to Acacia’s world-class optical products as a member of the Acacia department responsible for direct customer relationships. The individual will be assigned relevant work assignments to challenge them according to their current level of experience and capability.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a graduate program in electronic or electrical engineering or related field
Competed courses in Signals and Systems, Electronic Design and a Basic Programming Course
Knowledge of Python programming
Basic Analog Electrical engineering skills
Experience with electronic and/or optical system design

Coursework in optics or DSP

Responsibilities

Recreate real-world application environments in our optical lab to evaluate and verify customer issues
Develop creative workaround solutions to product limitations or bugs
Work with customers to help integrate Acacia’s products into their systems and networks
Work with the world’s leading systems and service providers to help build the networks of today and help define the networks of the future
Collaborate with team members to develop Python scripts that enable and manage system features
Address a broad range of technical disciplines, including electrical, optical, embedded SW, mechanical, and thermal.
