About The Position
The Associate Animal Care Coordinator Trainee (Cat Pal/Repro) works at Nestlé’s Nestlé Development Center in St. Joseph, Missouri, caring for and maintaining pets in a facility where dogs and cats support research into pet well-being and the human-animal bond. The role helps ensure pets receive high-quality care while participating in pet food research. It involves maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary workplace and participating in training and skill development as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of experience in animal husbandry and/or regular animal care.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for pets, including daily feedings, basic grooming, and enrichment activities.
- Obtain accurate body weights and body condition scores as required.
- Enter pet-related information accurately and reliably.
- Learn and implement socialization and training programs according to guidelines.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation duties to maintain a clean environment.
- Adhere to Nestlé Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Learn and comply with the Animal Welfare Act and Nestlé Purina Petcare Manual procedures and protocols.
- Report sick animals or unusual behavior to veterinary staff.
