About The Position

Situated in the close-knit community of Matagami, QC, near the beautiful Matagami Lake and within the Eeyou Istchee James Bay territory, the land is rich in character and emerging as an up-and-coming destination for economic growth. Surrounded by vast woodlands and serving as a gateway to Northern Quebec, the hotel’s location and the community’s expansion offer a rare combination of professional opportunity, community spirit, and proximity to Québec’s expanding northern frontier. Opening in autumn 2026, the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Matagami, QC will be a 72-room, modern hotel designed for comfort and connection. Amenities will include a pool, fitness centre, complimentary breakfast area, and meeting space for local gatherings and business events. This Microtel will serve both local business and northern leisure travelers, reflecting the strength, warmth, and growth of Matagami and the Cree Nation region. Requirements

  • Fluency in English and French is an asset.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a customer service-focused role or similar.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality sector is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to demonstrate a team-oriented approach;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
  • A fun and positive attitude with a sense of humour;
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the hospitality sector is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and French is an asset.
