About The Position

Clarke is looking for a curious, detail-loving 2nd shift Associate Analytical Chemist to join our Quality Assurance Analytical Laboratory in Schaumburg, IL. In this role, you'll help keep our products moving by testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products; keeping strong lab documentation; supporting analytical methods; and helping ensure our lab stays compliant and audit-ready. If you enjoy hands-on lab work, love solving problems with data, and like being part of a team that works across quality, production, and product development, this could be a great fit.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry plus 2+ years of analytical chemistry experience, or 4+ years of experience working in an analytical chemistry lab.
  • Experience with HPLC, analytical method development, sample extraction techniques, statistical analysis, and general lab safety procedures.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard computer tools.
  • Ability to interpret scientific and statistical reports and apply the information to day-to-day lab work.
  • Comfort working with concepts like probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially when instructions or situations are not perfectly standardized.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pesticide chemistry and microbiology techniques is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices is also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Run analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and customer-requested samples.
  • Keep accurate lab records, data, reports, Certificates of Analysis, and quality documentation.
  • Support product releases, sample retention, lab investigations, and GLP/non-GLP study documentation.
  • Help develop, validate, and improve analytical methods and lab procedures.
  • Keep standards, reference materials, equipment calibration, inventory, and the lab itself organized and audit-ready.
  • Follow safe lab practices, properly handle chemicals and samples, and support waste management requirements.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025:2017, and other lab quality system requirements.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance, Production, Product Development, and other teams on testing, reporting, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Jump in on additional duties and special projects as needed.
