About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Associate Analyst, Transmission Rates and Regulatory is responsible for compiling inputs for various Transmission formula rate calculations. This role supports the preparation of transmission revenue requirement calculations for tariff filings, prepares reports on transmission transactions and rates for regulatory agencies, and coordinates data request responses for annual formula rate protocols. The position also involves contributing to departmental industry research, calculating transmission service revenues for budgeting and forecasting, and executing activities to ensure accuracy and a positive impact on colleagues and customers. The role requires maintaining a positive, professional, cooperative, and efficient work atmosphere, communicating work information openly, delivering superior customer service, and keeping the manager informed of progress and issues. Participation in resolving customer crisis/urgent problems is also expected.

Requirements

  • Basic accounting theory, functional practices and procedures and financial reporting
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to analyze data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated skills with MS Office
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations
  • Possesses a high degree of personal ownership and accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or closely related discipline required
  • Zero to three years of experience
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Working towards a CPA, MBA preferred
  • Experience in the application of revenue requirements theory preferred
  • Utility industry finance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the preparation of transmission revenue requirement calculations in support of transmission tariff filings
  • Prepares reports detailing transmission transactions and rates to various regulatory agencies such as FERC and PUC
  • Coordinates data request responses for the annual formula rate protocols
  • Contributes to departmental industry research, including formula rate protocols, in support of annual protocol process
  • Calculates transmission service revenues for the annual budget and five-year financial forecast
  • Executes activities and/or objectives in an accurate, timely manner and ensures a positive impact on colleagues and customers
  • Contributes to a positive, professional, cooperative and efficient work atmosphere and openly communicates work information to others in a timely manner
  • Delivers superior customer service
  • Keeps manager informed of issues, impediments, and progress
  • Participates in the resolution of customer crisis/urgent problems as situations arise
