About The Position

As an Aircraft Wheel & Brake Overhaul Technician, you will be responsible for the end-to-end overhaul process of critical landing gear components. Working within a certified FAA Part 145 Repair Station, you will ensure that all wheel and brake assemblies meet the highest standards of airworthiness and safety before being returned to service. This role requires a high degree of precision, mechanical aptitude, and strict adherence to technical data.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in an aircraft component repair or overhaul environment, specifically with wheels and brakes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting CMMs, illustrated parts catalogs (IPCs), and service bulletins.
  • Experienced in using hand tools, torque wrenches, hydraulic presses, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Understanding of FAA Part 145 regulations and documentation standards.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble complex wheel and brake units, including the removal of tires, bearings, and hydraulic components.
  • Perform industrial cleaning and grit blasting to prepare parts for inspection.
  • Perform repairs, modifications, and overhauls on carbon and steel brake assemblies and wheel hubs in accordance with Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs).
  • Reassemble components, ensuring proper torque and balance.
  • Conduct functional and pressure testing to verify hydraulic integrity and leak-free operation.
  • Accurately complete all maintenance records, work orders, and FAA-required documentation.
  • Ensure all work aligns with the Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Quality Control Manual (QCM).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Exposure to shop environments including noise, vibrations, and hazardous materials
  • Precision-driven work requiring manual dexterity and keen attention to detail.
