About The Position

The Boeing Company's Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer to join a systems safety team on a proprietary Air Dominance program in Hazelwood, MO. This role involves performing system and software safety analyses, hazards mitigations, and verifications using MIL-STD-882E. The engineer will collaborate with design, test, and certification teams to integrate safety into the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Active Security Clearance (Active means held within the previous two years from today)
  • 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with aircraft systems (e.g., navigation, avionics, fuel, hydraulics, pneumatic, etc.) including operations and troubleshooting
  • Meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, requiring a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document safety analyses for systems and software
  • Contribute to hazard identification, mitigation, and verification activities
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate safety requirements
  • Support tests, inspections, and simulations to verify safety requirements
  • Resolve multi-functional technical issues
