About The Position

This role directly supports Capital One’s Commercial Broker Dealers registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the SEC, focusing on Accounts Payable operations alongside general ledger accounting. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong cross-functional relationships, and actively identifies opportunities for process improvement and technology-driven automation. You will work with a high-performing team to learn accounting processes and procedures at Capital One and for the Commercial Broker Dealers, and have the opportunity to grow your responsibilities and impact through project work.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree, or military experience
At least 1 year of experience in accounting, banking, or securities

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
2+ years of experience in accounting, banking, or securities
Hands-on experience managing end-to-end Accounts Payable workflows
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA candidate

Responsibilities

Serve as liaison between the line of business and Enterprise Supplier Management to manage accounts payable including onboarding vendors, processing and routing invoices for payment, and tracking contracts and ongoing business expenses
Calculate and post accurate month-end expense accruals, prepare general ledger journal entries, and perform account reconciliations
Prepare expense variance analysis and assist with reporting for month end close.
Interact directly with Finance, business partners, internal stakeholders, and associates throughout the Controller’s group
Support team automation and data transformation efforts
Identify and drive process efficiencies
Obtain and maintain a Series 99 Operations Professional license
Other duties as assigned
