About The Position

At 2K, we create iconic and culture-shaping video games. We are looking for a motivated Associate 3D Artist to join us and assist with scan data processing. The ideal candidate has strong foundational art skills, someone who is driven by curiosity and inspired to chase the next breakthrough. This role is required to work onsite out of our San Rafael, California office location and is a 12 month long temporary assignment.

Requirements

Portfolio/website demonstrating art skills
2+ years of experience with Maya
Willingness to accept direction and refine work until it is correct
Active, passionate enthusiasm for AAA video games and realistic character art styles

Nice To Haves

1 published video game as game artist
Understanding of facial anatomy for video games
Experience with retopology software (Wrap3D, etc.)

Responsibilities

Sculpt high-resolution characters from photogrammetry data
Assist the lead artist with QC-ing the character build process, identifying and fixing issues with model, texture, topology, rigging, animation, and rendering
Build expertise with 2KGO tools and follow best practices for character art creation, working with internal teams to implement high quality finished character assets
