About The Position
The Seasonal Associate provides exceptional customer service and assists in salesfloor operations to ensure a positive shopping experience and drive customer loyalty. This role involves various tasks throughout the year, specifically working in the Garden Centre from March to July, with toys during Christmas, and with bikes in the summer. Garden Centre Associates will be responsible for zoning, watering, and eliminating plants. The position may also involve limited cash handling and carrying limited amounts of hand luggage. Associates working with bikes will require limited physical activity, while those in the outdoor soil compound may need to perform medium to heavy lifting, potentially with team assistance. Responsibilities
- Greet all customers politely and friendly.
- Assist customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise, and making purchasing decisions.
- Resolve customer issues and escalate concerns to management when appropriate.
- Maintain sales floor presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or obsolete products, setting up and maintaining product displays, and signing and pricing merchandise.
- Ensure proper handling of claims and returns, secure merchandise, identify high-discount items, and maintain a safe working environment according to company policies and procedures.
- Receive and store merchandise, use equipment appropriately, and administer necessary documents, records, and other paperwork.
- Refer appropriate service and transactional items to a Customer Service Manager as needed.
- Perform various tasks throughout the year, including working in the Garden Centre (March-July), with toys (Christmas), and with bikes (summer).
