The Associate Director, Market Access Strategy & Insights, HIV Prevention will play a critical role bridging strategy development with field execution. This individual will partner across Market Access, Commercial, and Medical Affairs to translate strategic priorities into actionable field initiatives that enhance customer engagement, accelerate implementation, and improve patient access. The role will lead efforts related to field communications, training, launch readiness, implementation planning, and cross-functional coordination, ensuring consistent execution of market access strategies across healthcare systems, payers, and provider settings. As a key connector between headquarters and the field, the Associate Director will support strategic planning, surface field insights, and drive operational excellence to support the continued growth and impact of Gilead’s HIV Prevention portfolio.

Requirements

  • 10+ Years with BS/BA OR 8+ Years with MS/MA or MBA
  • 8+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical, healthcare, managed markets, consulting, reimbursement, commercial strategy, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional project leadership and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and health system reimbursement environments.
  • Experience supporting field-facing organizations and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, influence without authority, and execute in a complex matrix environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, MS, or equivalent).
  • Experience within Market Access, Managed Markets, Reimbursement, Account Management, Commercial Strategy, Marketing, or related functions.
  • Knowledge of HIV, infectious diseases, prevention, or specialty pharmaceutical markets preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and implementation of U.S. market access strategies for current and future HIV Prevention assets.
  • Collaborate across Brand Teams, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Account Management Finance, Market Research, Legal, Government Affairs, and other functional teams, to develop strategies that reflect all relevant current and projected market dynamics.
  • Collaborate with senior strategy leaders to translate payer, provider, health system, and customer insights into actionable strategic recommendations and resources.
  • Drive alignment across Market Access functions to ensure consistent execution of strategic priorities.
  • Monitor market dynamics, policy changes, competitive activity, and access trends to inform ongoing strategy refinement and new field resources.
  • Support annual planning, launch readiness, and portfolio management activities.
  • Serve as a strategic and executional liaison for the growing Institutional Access Director (IAD) organization.
  • Partner with IAD leadership to develop implementation plans supporting IAD team.
  • Support development of field deployment strategies, prioritization frameworks, and implementation best practices.
  • Facilitate collection and dissemination of field insights to inform future strategic decisions and resource development.
  • Lead development and execution of strategic communications for Market Access field organizations.
  • Establish processes, tools, and feedback models that improve coordination between strategy, planning, and field execution.
  • Support cross-functional project management of key market access HIV Prevention initiatives.
  • Develop performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to evaluate initiative effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making.
