About The Position

The Associate AD/Compliance independently coordinates, plans, organizes and implements all monitoring systems of the Athletics Compliance program, along with developing and implementing comprehensive and continuing NCAA and conference rules-education programs and procedures. The position also plays a strong role in enforcing University, conference, and NCAA regulations, to include all independent investigations and recommendations to Sr Assoc. AD/Chief of Staff of noncompliance.

  • Ability to educate and train staff on NCAA compliance standards.
  • Active driver's license for the last 3 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2 – 4 years NCAA Division I compliance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors recruiting activities, verifying coaches' records for compliance with NCAA Bylaw 13, and ensuring recruiting travel is compliant with NCAA rules.
  • Delivers interpretations of Bylaw 13 to coaches and develops/enforces new monitoring strategies.
  • Compiles rules violation reports for Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief of Staff, including facts, findings, and recommendations for penalties/sanctions.
  • Monitors financial aid, identifying potential non-counters and tracking compliance with NCAA Bylaw 15.
  • Manages the department’s efforts surrounding regulatory changes for student-athlete Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), including rules education and strategy.
  • Administers the institution's compliance responsibilities under College Sports Commission (CSC) regulations, including NIL Go disclosures and CSC CAPS platform management.
  • Develops and implements systems to track student-athlete NIL activity and provides rules education.
  • Monitors each sport’s playing and practice season calendar for compliance with NCAA Bylaw 17.
  • Serves as the point person for planning, advertising, and administering sports camps and clinics.
  • Develops and implements systems to track student-athlete employment, providing rules education and monitoring compliance.
  • Administers participation lists that track seasons of competition and monitors student-athlete participation in outside competition.
  • Assists the Department of Athletics in managing regulatory changes.
  • Develops rules education content and serves as primary liaison with athletics compliance technology provider.
  • Provides NCAA rules interpretations to coaches, student-athletes, and staff.
  • Assists in conducting monthly compliance meetings with coaching staffs for rules education and monitoring strategies.
  • Conducts training sessions with Olympic sport coaching staffs on NCAA compliance and new rules.
  • Conducts investigations of non-compliance by gathering information of potential violations.
  • Manages and processes student-athlete conduct issues in collaboration with other university departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Sr. Associate AD/Chief of Staff.
