About The Position

This is a field-based, patient-focused role for a certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) at Blackburn's Physicians Pharmacy, Inc. The role involves working closely with clinicians, patients, and caregivers to evaluate needs, recommend complex rehab solutions, and ensure equipment is properly fit, configured, and delivered. It is ideal for someone with experience in complex rehab technology, seating and positioning, or DME/HME who wants to combine clinical knowledge with relationship-building and hands-on equipment work. The position requires regular travel to patient homes, healthcare facilities, and clinical settings. Ongoing education is expected, including maintaining ATP certification and completing required continuing education units (CEUs), as well as participation in workshops and training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong knowledge of complex rehab equipment, seating and positioning, and DME/HME products
  • Understanding of insurance, reimbursement, and documentation requirements
  • Experience with patient evaluation, anatomical measurements, and equipment fitting
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based, customer-facing role
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in anatomy, physiology, orthotics, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient evaluations in clinical and home settings to determine mobility and positioning needs
  • Recommend and configure complex rehabilitation and assistive technology equipment
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure proper setup, fitting, programming, and training
  • Transport and manage evaluation and trial equipment for assessments and fittings
  • Complete detailed patient evaluations, documentation, and product specifications
  • Obtain manufacturer quotes and assess cost vs. reimbursement for profitability
  • Deliver and fit final equipment to ensure proper anatomical alignment and function
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe and effective equipment use
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, orders, and communications
  • Collaborate with sales coordinators to ensure smooth order processing and customer service
  • Develop and maintain referral relationships with healthcare providers and community partners
  • Support equipment assembly, adjustments, and minor repairs as needed
  • Participate in in-services, presentations, and marketing initiatives
