The Assisted Living Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing all assisted living programs. This role involves overseeing the coordination of outside nursing services, maintaining job descriptions for assisted living staff, and developing the assisted living budget in conjunction with the Executive Director. The coordinator ensures departments operate within budgetary limits and oversees the safety program and OSHA compliance. Case management, coordination with Wellness Directors and discharge planners, and acting as a resident advocate during hospitalizations are key aspects of the role. The position also involves developing and evaluating individual resident care plans, managing pharmaceutical services, overseeing medication management and paperwork, and conducting resident assessments. Additionally, the coordinator manages assisted living staff, determines staffing needs, delegates authority, ensures professional personnel have valid licenses, and handles staff and resident complaints/grievances. The role includes developing and conducting in-service training, implementing orientation programs, encouraging teamwork, and ensuring staff participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and stay updated on nursing practices. Adherence to HIPAA and monitoring resident care to ensure dignity and respect are also crucial.
