About The Position

Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus is seeking a compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join its Nursing team. The CMA administers medications, monitors residents’ health, and helps maintain a safe, supportive environment. The role is full-time, day shift, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with every other weekend required. The position is located in Columbus, Nebraska, and reports to the Director of Nursing (DON).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current certification as a Medication Aide (CMA), as required by Nebraska regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals and build positive relationships with residents and their families.
Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed and perform tasks requiring physical stamina and endurance.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or similar environment; experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with facility protocols and physician orders.
Observe and document changes in residents’ conditions, including vital signs and adverse medication reactions.
Maintain a clean and organized medication storage area and follow infection control procedures and safety protocols.
Provide compassionate and respectful assistance to residents, addressing their needs and preferences.
Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and meet residents’ needs.
Complete required documentation accurately, including medication administration records, resident health observations, and incident reports.
