About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager / Dining Operations Manager, the Assisted Living Assistant Dining Manager manages daily assisted living venue operations and assists servers and caregivers during peak meal periods, distributes menus and updates all AL foodservice binders, and maintains sanitation and temperature standards. The Assisted Living Assistant Dining Manager strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize service performance in areas of responsibility. Once a month, coordinates with the Kitchen Manager to upkeep the Therapeutic Dining program in Sarah’s place. Must be able to fluently communicate in or to take or give direction or guidance in the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Assisted Living dining areas, supervises food service staff in accordance with operating policies for Glencroft that he or she may help establish.
  • Creates a positive team atmosphere among team members.
  • Provides feedback and coaching to the Team regularly.
  • Understands building capability through Cross training.
  • Treats all team members fairly, with respect.
  • Sets high standards for appropriate team behavior on shift.
  • Works with food and beverage staff to ensure proper food presentation and proper food-handling procedures are exceeded daily.
  • Handle guest complaints in the dining room or on phone. Is capable of handling irate residents with a friendly/calm attitude.
  • Provides trainings with staff to ensure correct interpretation of policies and obtain feedback from staff members.
  • Assists in maintaining temp logs, sanitation, and assisted living menu/book upkeep.
  • Check the quality of in room deliveries and collaborate with caregiving staff to maintain standards and consistency.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services through placement of Worxhub work orders.
  • Ensures product quality and great service.
  • Shows enthusiasm about guests within the AL dining rooms.
  • Is flexible in dealing with changes/problems (e.g., being short staffed).
  • Shifts priorities and goals as work demands change.
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively to ensure most important tasks are completed on time.
  • Delegates and follow-up effectively.
  • Taking ownership of issues or tasks and also give detail update of the Executive Chef and the rest of the team.
  • Seeks, listens and responds to resident feedback.
  • Coaches team on how to exceed resident expectations.
  • Does not blame others; takes accountability for problems.
  • Effectively identifies problems through reports and can ideate & execute to resolve the same.
  • Health inspection ready at all times.
  • Assist in planning annually the Therapeutic Dining Program monthly demonstrations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
